I don’t recall seeing it at this price before. Limit 2. They have a new “free ship to store” option for those that have a Frys nearby (but then you pay taxes). No Fry’s near me, so no tax, but $8 shipping for the two drives.

I searched and did not find this posted here. Anyway, I bought the Sony Bluray BDPS300 at Best Buy for $399. Current Promo at BB is buy any bluray player and get 10 free DVD ( 5 instant plus 5 mail in). Anyway, I saw at Target.com that this same model was on sale for $299. Went back to BB and brought printed copy of Target.com sale for PM for $289. I still got my 10 DVDs.

Impressive customer rating @ Newegg (578 reviews, score of 5 eggs) + 2x Winner of Customer Choice Award - LCD Monitors
FW member std2u says “Chimei is a manufacturer of monitors. Several other companies use their panels, and reviews at the egg for chimei branded monitors is usually very good. However some people have had a bad time with their customer service.”

I don’t know what happened to the post on this that was active today. Funny how some stuff vanishes. Here is the first post of the old thread:

HOT!!!!!! I was at Office Depot today and saw the Gateway M-6824 laptop on sale for $649.99 AR ($400 in 2 rebates). Actual tag read this price and it was not a managers mark down.
Smoking hot deal!!! This laptop is loaded and is super slim not like the ultra bulky vostros.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB
Display: 15.4 widescreen Ultrabright (glossy) WXGA TFT (1280×800)
Memory: 3GB DDR2 667MHz (upgradable to 4GB)
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT Dedicated Graphics with up to 892MB Hypermemory (128MB GDDR3 dedicated)
HDMI Port
Hard Drive: 250GB 5400RPM SATA
Optical Drive: 8x Multi-Formal Dual Layer DVD+/-RW with DVD-RAM and Labelflash.
Battery: 6-Cell 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery

I looked at this laptop at an OD today. Everything stated above is correct. It’s responsive, has a good looking screen, the body seems well built, and for all it packs in it’s still fairly slim. Even the web cam picture looks great.
I was ready to buy this for a friend who is looking for a laptop for his daughter, but every store in the Seattle area is out. Since this unit is on close out, they were willing to sell me the display for 10% off (apparently, this is the manager’s call). That would have made it:
$1049 - 10% = $944
Tax on $944, then less $400 in rebates. So, it would have been $544 plus the local tax on $944 ($74 in my case).
That’s a heck of a deal for a laptop with these specs. If it was for me, I would have bought it (in fact, I tried very hard to talk myself into to buying it…but I just don’t need one more laptop). I didn’t feel right buying a display for someone else to give as a gift.
I’d look for one of these if you’re in the laptop market.
