Highly rated Antec MX-1 3.5″ external hard drive enclosure. Supports SATA hard drives.
External interface is eSATA and USB. Highly rated enclosure.
Free shipping from Circuit City, or in store pickup.

People seemed happy when the same enclosure was on sale at Newegg for $39.99 after a $30 rebate + $6 shipping. Even better price here with no rebate.

Don’t forget to call them on the 24-minute guarantee if your order isn’t ready when you get there. When I got there, the guy had to actually go out to the computer department of the retail space, find it, and bring it back. It’s supposed to be ready for you at the pickup area, either on the rollers or on the nearby shelves in the warehouse space. At first he tried to claim that it was 24 minutes from the time you got to the store - HA! (it’s 24 minutes from the time you get the email confirmation). So YMMV GREATLY, but I actually got a $24 gift card out of the deal as well

Edit: I’ve since set it up. Comments:
1.) The way drives screw into the enclosure is kind of a pain (you need to unscrew 9 screws total to get the drive installed). However, the screws use nice little rubber “dampeners” that means the drive doesn’t vibrate against the case. Noiseless is definitely worth a few extra screws.
2.) The fan is VERY quiet and seems to keep the drive quiet cool
3.) Unfortunately, the enclosure itself does not go to sleep when the computer goes into standby (the small LED and fan stay on). However, the hard drive itself does turn off. This means that power consumption goes from about 10-18W down to about 3W. Still pretty good, and since you can’t hear it, I don’t really think it matters. I’ve connected mine to my media center and it’s working great. Nice that an eSATA bracket is included.

Beautiful Katamari 360 $35 Fry’s B&M; The king of all cosmos wants YOU!!!

Dropped by the Renton Fry’s on the way home from work and they had shelves full of Beautiful Katamari. I grabbed my copy and was surprised to find when I checked out that it was $35, instead of $39. I imagine it will show up in the Wednesday ad, but getting it a surprise at the checkout was nice.

I imagine this is on at other fry’s but anyone who can confirm that, it would be appreciated.

On a side note, when I bought it, the checker asked me, “You buying this for your daughter?”

WHAT!?!?!?! Heck no! I have been looking forward to this since I heard about it over a year ago! She can play it when she pries the controller from my cold dead hands!!!!

For those who don’t know what this is… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beautiful_Katamari

Thanks to sgnakster @ sd

Regular price was $800, but has been discontinued. This is the silver model. They still have one left in the box, plus a beat-up one on display, at the Baybrook BB in Webster, TX (between Houston and Galveston). Stock number is 7486053, but it may be hard for them to look up since it is no longer a current model.

Harbor Freight Tools Multiple Coupon Page List (Update this for all current weekly coupons)

Rating: 52 Posted By: MrLateNite

Update: I will retain the original post with URL information as of the date it was posted below. Please refer to the QUICK SUMMARY section to view the MOST CURRENT HARBOR FREIGHT COUPONS!

Note: There are currently a total of 88 active coupons as of the time I posted this in the links below. Plus information on how to obtain each week’s coupons yourself.

Everyone knows that each week Harbor Freight Tools sends out multiple coupons to their email subscribers.

Each email contains a link back to their site to view the coupons if the user can’t view them in HTML email.

Inevitably, each week a new post is made to Fat Wallet with the latest coupons, and inevitably people post followup asking where the latest coupons are if the originals are now expired (since their coupons have a 6 day life typically).

This post is meant as a summary of how their coupon links work, a list of their current sales for this second week of October 2007, and how to find the coupons yourself, AND to provide a single spot to update the list weekly, ala the Clearance threads for many stores. This will keep the number of similar posts down and locate all your Harbor Freight information in 1 thread.

Onto the links:

Here are the current links that are active TODAY, Thursday, October 11, 2007. I will also place these in the Quick Summary so that other members can update them each week to the current ones for the members that don’t know how to manually edit URLs.

Group 1: These links are the ones directly sent to most email subscribers.

This is their Monday through Saturday ad. It becomes active LATE on Monday evenings or on Tuesday mornings. Week to week, the only thing that changes is the week number of the year, in this case, it’s currently ‘41′, the 41st week.
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/emails/display.do?fname=41_RetailA.html

This link is the same, just without the header and sidebar panes:
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/html/emails/41/RetailA/41_retailA.html

This is their Thursday through Tuesday ad. It becomes active LATE on Thursday evenings or on Friday mornings. Same rues as the above. Notice the only difference here is “B” vs “A” in the filename.
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/emails/display.do?fname=41_RetailB.html

This link is the same, just without the header and sidebar panes:
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/html/emails/41/RetailB/41_retailB.html

Group 1b: Sometimes during an “email coupon blitz” they will also offer additional pages of coupons that come out every other day during a week. This happens about 2 times a year. You can search for them by simply changing “RetailA.html” to “RetailC.html” down to “RetailF.html” or so.

Group 2: For each of the above pages, there is a link on the bottom that sends you to “Need more coupons?” The actual URL contains the end date of the week (always a Sunday). In this case it shows 1014:
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/html/wkend1014/usa_cpnsave.html

Group 2b: Sometimes they will have the following week’s coupons available while the current ones are still active (different than the overlapping midweek ones). I do NOT know if their system will have these coupons enabled before the usual start date (1 week before they expire), but for example, this week you can already acccess next week’s coupons:
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/html/wkend1021/usa_cpnsave.html

Note: The link on their pages is defined as this basic link below, but resolves to the specific week they want to show as active like one of the two above links once you click on it. Use this link to get to the for sure ‘active’ one, but use the links above to see the specific week’s one.
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/html/usa_cpnsave.html

Group 3: It seems there is another level of coupons they use that some people receive and others don’t. These may be used more of a short-term offer (such as 3 or 5 days, not a full week like the others above). This is an example of one that ran for 3 days last week. Again, it is indexed by the week of the year number. Simply change 40 to 41 to get the current page each week, if one exists at all. None exist for this week as this is posted.

http://www.harborfreightusa.com/html/emails/40/addsave/

Hope that helps… There were over 88 active coupons in the above links. That should satisfy most HFT shoppers for this week!

Task Force 3-Watt “CREE” LED Flashlight - $29.97 - Lowes B&M (150+ lumens)

Rating: 15 Posted By: blackwaterstout

For all of you flashlight whores out there, an updated version of the Lowes Task Force LED flashlight is now available at many Lowes stores. The new version has the same SKU number as the old version that came with the outdated Luxeon lamp. But instead the new version has the awesome new CREE LED that produces much more light and has greater efficiency. This light is not micro small like some of the tactical lights yet at the same time it’s not a huge monster like the 3D and 4D maglites. The new Task Force light uses 2 “C” cell batteries and pumps out a whooping 150+ lumens. This light is known for having a huge “throw” while having little spill. (That means it shines far but has a narrow beam). It’s priced at $29.97 which is a steal for the hot new CREE lamp. For those of you considering getting a Maglite LED forget about it and pick up one of the new Task Force lights. They are not on the website yet and are slowly making there way into Lowes Stores as we speak. Some Lowes are not putting the new stock out until the older Luxeon lights have sold so be careful that you are buying the new one. Easiest way to tell you are getting a CREE is to look for two things on the package. The term “XLamp” will appear on the package and the Phrase “60X brighter than standard LED” will also appear. IF you don’t see those phrases then pass on the deal until you can find a new one.
